OVERVIEWThe Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission (CHPAC) is an advisory board of the Town of Chapel Hill. Established in 1992 by a resolution of the Town Council, the Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission is responsible for advising the Council on art-related matters, promoting public awareness of the arts, and working with Town Public Arts staff to provide advice on the Percent For Art program and to increase public access to the arts through programming initiatives. Sixteen volunteer board members are appointed by the Town Council to serve as advisors and supporters of public art. Commission members are appointed by the Town Council for three-year terms and may serve no more than two consecutive terms. Meetings are open to the public and are held the second Wednesday of the month at Chapel Hill Town Hall. |
